No decision yet on proposed Villages at Lakeview housing project

The public will have another chance to weigh in on a proposal that would bring thousands of dwelling units and up to 1.4 million square feet of commercial projects to an area between Perris and the San Jacinto Valley.
The Riverside County Planning Commission decided Wednesday, Oct. 4, to continue a public hearing on the Villages at Lakeview project at its Wednesday, Oct. 18, meeting, county officials said.
Though Nuevo Development Corp. seeks to build a maximum of 11,350 units, county officials recommend the planning panel side with an alternate proposal to build a maximum of 8,725 units.
Some argue that the project could affect traffic and nearby wildlife areas.
