New Beaumont councilman to be sworn in Tuesday

Rey Santos will be sworn in as the newest member of the Beaumont City Council on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Santos was appointed Oct. 17 to fill the seat vacated by Mark Orozco, who was convicted of felony bribery and perjury charges last month.
Santos, 65, is the president/broker of Saints Realty and has been serving as vice chairman of the Beaumont Finance and Audit Committee. His term expires in November 2018.
He will be sworn in at 5 p.m. then head into closed session. The open session begins at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center, 550 E 6th St.
