NBA 2018 All-Star Celebrity Game will be L.A. themed, feature ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Black-ish’ stars, Common and more
The NBA released the names of the coaches and players for its 2018 NBA All-Star Celebrity game, which will take place on Friday, Feb. 16 at the Verizon Up Arena inside the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The game will include an all-Los Angeles theme with the teams being dubbed the Lakers and the Clippers.
Team Lakers coaches will include “Black Panther” star Michael B. Jordan, retired Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady and ESPN’s “The Jump” host Rachel Nichols. Lakers players will be Sterling Brim from “Ridiculousness,” actor and rapper Nick Cannon, boxer Terence Crawford, NBA2KTV host Rachel DeMita, “Power” star Jerry Ferrara, Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry, “Stranger Things” star Caleb McLaughlin, WNBA Los Angeles Sparks player Candace Parker, NBA legend Nate Robinson, “Property Brothers” star Drew Scott and singer and actor Kris Wu.
Team Clippers will be coached by actor and hip-hop singer Common, former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce and ESPN’s “The Jump” host Katie Nolan. The players will be “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson, actor Brandon Armstrong, Miles Brown from “Black-ish,” Win Butler from indie rock band Arcade Fire, Olympic sprinter Andre De Grasse, WNBA Chicago Sky player Stefanie Dolson, actor and singer Jamie Foxx, actress Dascha Polanco, professional golf champion Bubba Watson and NBA legend Jason Williams.
Tickets to the game are sold-out; however, it will be televised on ESPN and via the ESPN app starting at 4 p.m. PST on Friday, Feb. 16.
Last month, it was announced that for its 67th year, the NBA 2018 All-Star Game would be held on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and would be kicked-off by comedian and actor Kevin Hart.
