Murrieta’s Hunt House could become a museum
By Shane Newell
The historic Hunt House could soon be home to a museum.
The Murrieta City Council will meet Tuesday, Nov. 21, to consider approving a lease with the Murrieta Valley Historical Society for operating a museum at the cost of $1 per year. City officials recommend the council enter into a five-year lease with the possibility of 10, one-year, extensions.
The Hunt House was built about 1920 and owned by David and Inez Hunt before it was donated to the Murrieta Valley Town Hall Association in 1956.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 1 Town Square.
