A motorcyclist died Saturday, June 17, after falling off his motorcycle on the 91 Freeway in Corona and getting run over by a big-rig.

Stephen Moore, 45, was pronounced dead five minutes after the crash was reported at 3:51 p.m. Saturday in the freeway’s westbound lanes west of Serfas Club Drive, according to news releases from the Riverside County Coroner’s Office and California Highway Patrol.

Moore, of Riverside, was riding a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle when westbound traffic on the 91 came to a full stop, the CHP news release said.

Moore started to brake and veered to the right to avoid crashing into the cars ahead of him. That’s when he lost control of the motorcycle and fell into the roadway, directly in the path of a big-rig, the news release said.

Moore was run over by the big-rig. When paramedics arrived, he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation. The CHP asks anyone with information about it call the Riverside-area Accident Investigation Unit at 951-637-8000.
