Motorcyclist dies in collision with passenger vehicle in Riverside

A male motorcyclist died at the scene of a collision on Chicago Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, in Riverside, according to a statement from a Riverside police spokesman.
A southbound passenger vehicle appeared to make a turning movement in front of the motorcycle, which was traveling in the same direction, according to Officer Ryan Railsback.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike during the incident, according to a Riverside city Fire Department news release. The passenger vehicle was described as a mid-size SUV.
Chicago Avenue between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Le Conte Drive was closed in both directions for the investigation.
The city’s major accident investigation team responded to investigate. It wasn’t known how long the road would be closed.
