Three people robbed a Moreno Valley business Monday afternoon and led law enforcement on a pursuit that ended up near downtown Los Angeles, a Riverside County sheriff’s spokesman said.

The incident began about 2:20 p.m. when sheriff’s deputies received a report of a robbery at a business in the 27100 block of Eucalyptus Avenue, according to Deputy Armando Munoz. One of the robbers was armed with a handgun.

Munoz declined to identify the business or say what was stolen, but the Stoneridge Town Centre complex of retail businesses and restaurants is located in that block, just east of Nason Street.

Munoz said a description of the robbers and their vehicle was shared with other law enforcement agencies. A short time later, the California Highway Patrol located the vehicle and a pursuit ensued, ending about 5 p.m. in the area of East 14th Street and Elwood Street near downtown Los Angeles, he said.

The neighborhood is just west of where the 60 Freeway merges into the 10 Freeway.

Munoz didn’t have any information about arrests.
