Nine people were displaced after an early-morning fire ripped through a Moreno Valley home Monday, according to CalFire/Riverside County Fire officials.

The fire was first reported around 4 a.m. on the 25700 block of Jumano Drive, a fire department press release said.

“The first arriving engine company reported heavy smoke and fire visible from a two-story home,” the statement said.

Firefighters were able to get a handle on the blaze in a little more than an hour. It’s estimated the fire caused about $200,000 in damages, the release said.

The American Red Cross was called to help the nine people living in the home.
