Moreno Valley DUI suspect crashes into sheriff’s vehicle, Colton police say

A 26-year-old Moreno Valley man who authorities say was drunk crashed into a San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy vehicle in Colton on Tuesday night, Colton police officials said.

No one was hurt in the crash, according to a press release.

Just before 8:30 p.m., Colton officers were called to a crash at Washington Street and Reche Canyon Road and found one of the vehicles was a sheriff’s vehicle, according to a statement.

Officers determined the driver of the second vehicle, identified as Michael Robert Ele, was impaired, officials said.

Ele was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, officials said.

Authorities ask anyone who may have seen the crash to call the Colton station at 909-370-5000.
