Road work starting Monday, June 19, at two locations in Menifee will interfere with traffic patterns, city officials advised.

The biggest impact will occur Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the final step will occur in the repaving of heavily traveled Newport Road between Haun and Bradley Roads. The approximately three-quarters-of-a-mile stretch west of Interstate 215 will be constricted to one lane of traffic in each direction.

Message boards will be placed at each end of the corridor under construction to warn motorists to expect long delays and to suggest that they seek alternatives.

Also Monday, crews will start repairs on a section of Craig Avenue at Evans Road. The work will require the two-week closure of a several hundred foot stretch of Craig east from the intersection.

Residents can use Holland Road to the north to bypass the closure.
