Armando G. Villa has been tapped to lead Menifee, one of the Inland Empire’s fastest-growing cities, following a nationwide search, according to a news release.

The Menifee City Council voted unanimously to offer the job of city manager to Villa, who will replace Interim City Manager Ronald E. Bradley.

Villa is scheduled to start Dec. 18.

Villa has served as city manager of Calexico for almost three years. He previously worked as assistant county executive officer and planning director for Imperial County.

And he is a former community development director for Temecula.

Villa, in a statement, said he was looking forward to “implementing the council and community’s vision, and playing a key role in positioning the city for a bright future.”
