Man who died in 215 freeway incident identified as Perris resident

PERRIS — A man killed when he fell or jumped from an overpass on the southbound I-215 in Perris was publicly identified Saturday.

Domingo Barrios, 44, was a Perris resident, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

A man was reported to be down in the southbound lanes near Nuevo Road at 11:47 p.m. Thursday, the California Highway Patrol said.

The caller told CHP he swerved to avoid hitting the man and then saw the man run over by at least one vehicle, but possibly more.

The man now identified as Barrios died at the scene, the CHP reported.
