Man taken to hospital with burns after La Quinta car fire
The driver of a commercial vehicle that became engulfed in flames this afternoon in La Quinta was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening burn injuries.
Firefighters responded just after 2 p.m. to the intersection of Avenue 54 and Madison Street and found the vehicle “fully involved in fire,” said Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The driver and sole occupant, whose name was not released, suffered minor facial and hand burns, Cabral said.
The cause of the fire, which was under control within about 15 minutes, was under investigation.
