Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a suspect they believe is responsible for tagging vandalism at Machado Park in Lake Elsinore that’s been going on for the past three months.
Daniel Rendon, 19, of Lake Elsinore was picked up Oct. 24 in the area of Clement and Broadway streets, north of the city park, Riverside County sheriff’s officials announced in a news release Monday.

He was booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in French Valley under the name Danny Rendon, and is not eligible for bail.
He also had two warrants out for his arrest, one for vandalism and one in a misdemeanor case involving battery on a former companion, according to court and jail records.
Rendon pleaded guilty in the previous vandalism case in a court appearance Friday, Oct. 27. He was sentenced to 45 days in custody, three years’ probation and ordered to pay victim restitution, Riverside County Superior Court records show.
He was ordered to not engage in tagging or defacing public or private property and not to possess spray paint, markers or other items commonly used for tagging.
No charges have been filed in connection with the new tagging case. Because of the vandalism case, a warrant was issued alleging a violation of probation in a prior battery case, according to court records.
