Man struck, killed while running across Fontana street identified

Authorities have identified a man struck and killed by a car as he ran across a Fontana street as Luis Orlando Gonzalez, 49, of Fontana, according to San Bernardino County coroner’s officials.

Around 6:45 p.m. Monday, Gonzalez was running south across the 16500 block of Arrow Boulevard when he was struck by a 2005 Honda Accord, according to the coroner’s website.

The Honda was traveling east on Arrow Boulevard when the crash took place, officials said.

Paramedics took Gonzalez to Kaiser Foundation Hospital Fontana, where he later died.

Fontana police detectives are investigating the crash.
