Man running across Redlands street struck by vehicle

A 49-year-old man suffered broken bones and lacerations when he tried to run across traffic lanes on Redlands Boulevard and was struck by a westbound vehicle about 7:38 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, Redlands police spokesman Carl Baker said in a written statement.
The victim, described as a transient, remained conscious and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The 68-year-old male driver and a passenger were not injured.
The incident occurred on the boulevard between New Jersey and California streets near the Redlands Walmart.
Westbound traffic lanes were closed for about 90 minutes for the traffic investigation.
