Sheriff’s investigators are searching for two men they say used an assault rifle to rob a man of his cellphone early Wednesday morning.

The victim was walking on Dogwood Street near Marshall Boulevard in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino around 12:30 a.m. when San Bernardino County sheriff’s authorities say an older blue pickup with shiny rims pulled up, the passenger pointed an assault rifle at the man and demanded his cellphone.

The victim threw his phone into the vehicle and ran home, according to a sheriff’s news release.

The victim provided a vague description of the men. The driver was about 30 to 40 years old and was wearing a black tank top. The passenger was in his 30s with a black and gray long-sleeved shirt.

No one was hurt in the robbery.
