Man possibly ejected after truck rolls off 91 Freeway in Riverside

A man may have been ejected after the truck he was driving rolled down the embankment of the westbound 91 Freeway near Adams Street in Riverside on Friday morning, California Highway Patrol officials said.

Initial emergency calls said the vehicle was a catering truck, according to CHP dispatchers, but arriving officers said the vehicle appears to be a white box truck.

The crash was reported around 7 a.m. when callers reported seeing the vehicle go off the the roadway and roll down the embankment, officials said. A man was seen lying on the ground near the wrecked vehicle, leading some to believe the person may have been ejected, according to CHP authorities. However, dispatchers said officers reported only minor injuries associated with the crash.

Traffic was backing up around the crash scene as officers and crews worked to help the injured man and to investigate the crash.
