The victim of an attempted robbery was shot Monday night, Nov. 13, Riverside police said.
He suffered injuries that were described as not life-threatening, Officer Ryan Railsback wrote in an email Tuesday.
About 9:40 p.m., officers responding to a report of shots heard in the area of Tyler Street and Cook Avenue, about a mile northwest of the Galleria at Tyler, found a man who had been shot in a leg, Railsback said.
He told officers that he was riding a bicycle along Tyler when he was approached by a man who demanded money. The victim refused to give him any, and the shooter fired one time, he told police.
The shooter fled and could not be located. The victim was unable to give a specific description of the shooter, Railsback said.
