The man who was struck and killed while crossing a 215 Freeway off-ramp on Jan. 30 has been identified as Eddie Burt, 60, of Murrieta, according to a Riverside County Sheriff/Coroner’s news release.

Burt was injured at 5:18 a.m. and pronounced dead at the scene at 5:39 a.m., according to the coroner’s report.

The victim had pulled off the northbound freeway about 200 feet south of the Los Alamos Road off-ramp and parked his 2012 Toyota Camry on the left shoulder of the off-ramp, where it became disabled, according to authorities.

He began crossing the off-ramp on foot directly into the path of a 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a 35-year-old Temecula man, according to a CHP news release. The Temecula driver cooperated with officers in the investigation.
