Man killed on 15 Freeway in Norco identified as Corona resident

The man killed in a fiery crash Monday evening along the 15 Freeway in Norco has been identified as Robin Tanner, 33, of Corona, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

The vehicle Tanner was in rolled over, landed upside-down and caught fire in the center divider, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic incident website.

The crash was reported about 6:40 p.m. just south of Hidden Valley Parkway in Norco, officials said.

The fast lane on the northbound side of the freeway was closed about 7:30 p.m., initially backing up traffic to the 91 Freeway interchange. Although a SigAlert estimated the lane would be closed for one to two hours, it didn’t reopen until shortly after 11 p.m., after the car was towed away.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
