A passenger on a bus serving adults with developmental disabilities made criminal threats Thursday afternoon, prompting evacuation of the bus and a response by Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies, according to sheriff’s spokesman Armando Munoz.
The bus had stopped near Sierra Avenue and Sixth Street in Norco. The other passengers were evacuated from the bus safely and deputies contacted the male suspect, he said.
Deputies detained the man, interviewed him and ultimately referred him for a mental health evaluation. The incident was reported around 4 p.m.
There was no threat to bus riders or residents, Munoz said.
