Man arrested after Moreno Valley restaurant employee is held at knifepoint during robbery
MORENO VALLEY — A man suspected of holding a Moreno Valley restaurant employee at knifepoint was in custody Wednesday on suspicion of armed robbery.
The robbery was reported at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the 14000 block of Moreno Beach Drive, said Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jeremy Harding.
The suspect, identified by police as 24-year-old Francisco Miranda of Moreno Valley, entered the restaurant and held an employee at knifepoint while demanding cash, Harding said. Miranda took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, Harding said.
Miranda was later found hiding in the 16000 block of Heather Glen Road in Moreno Valley, where he was taken into custody, according to Harding.
Miranda was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is due in court at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Riverside Hall of Justice, according to online inmate records.
