A Norco man suspected of setting fire to a neighbor’s shed was arrested on several arson-related charges Wednesday, Jan. 31, the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
Stephen Fred Rowe, 48, was arrested on suspicion of arson of a structure, arson of property and using an incendiary device to set a fire, all felonies. He was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center early Thursday and released the same day after posting $35,000 bail, county jail records show.
A phone message left at Rowe’s home Thursday seeking comment was not immediately returned.
Firefighters responding to the 1800 block of Tonto Bar Lane just after 8 p.m. Wednesday discovered a shed about 200 square feet in size ablaze, Cal Fire spokeswoman Tawny Cabral said.
The fire spread to Rowe’s property, but firefighters extinguished the flames, Cabral said.
Investigators did not provide a motive for the alleged arson, she said.
