‘Lifeless’ dog trapped in burning Perris RV is rescued and revived

PERRIS — Firefighters rescued and resuscitated a dog trapped in a burning travel trailer near Lake Perris who had passed out from smoke inhalation over the weekend, the Riverside County Fire Department said today.

The fire occurred at 10:14 a.m. Saturday in a travel trailer parked in the Lake Perris RV Campground at 17801 Lake Perris Drive, according to a series of tweets posted by the fire department.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, a quarter of the trailer was on fire and crew members knocked down the door to search the inside.

There they found a female dog lying “lifeless” in the burning trailer overcome by the smoke and were able to pull her out.

First responders gave the canine oxygen therapy and applied electrical stimulation and she “began to come around,” according to the department.
