LA County Fair 2017: What you need to know about parking and how to get there
Fairplex in Pomona is big, 487 acres big.
Of that property, about 225 acres are parking lots that can accommodate about 28,000 parking spaces, so there is no shortage of parking when attending the LA County Fair, the challenge is convenient parking. Never fear, we have some tips and tricks to guide you.
General parking is $15. Season parking passes are available for $60 and are good for every day the fair is open.
For $25 per entrance, fair guests can use the VIP parking at Gate 17 off Fairplex Drive and at Gate 9 off White Avenue. Visitors should keep in mind that VIP parking fills up quickly. VIP will shorten the distance, but you can still get your steps in for the day.
Valet parking is available for $30 at Gate 3, which is the entrance to the Sheraton Fairplex, off McKinley Avenue. It’s very limited, but it’s the shortest walk to an entrance gate if you are driving to the fair.
However, if you’re traveling with kids, know that shuttles stop at various points within the parking lots to collect visitors and drop them off at the entrances to Fairplex. There are also shuttles when it’s time to go home, so it’s less of a haul to bring that giant teddy bear you won on the midway back home. There is one caveat. The giant teddy bear can ride in the shuttle “if it can fit without obstructing the driver’s view,” said Renee Hernandez, Fairplex spokeswoman, in a text message
