Kempe leads Tucson Roadrunners to outpace Ontario Reign

The Ontario Reign suffered a 4-1 loss to the Tucson Roadrunners at the Citizens Business Bank Arena on Friday night.

Tucson’s Mario Kempe scored his sixth goal of the season with assists from Conor Garland and Laurent Dauphin 9 minutes, 10 seconds into the first period.

Kempe followed with a second goal at the 17:54 mark to give the Roadrunners the 2-0 lead.

Brett Sutter scored the Reign’s only goal of the night with 1:05 in the second period. Sean Walker and Oscar Fantenberg assisted the power-play goal.

Garland made it 3-1 for Tucson after scoring a power-play goal 7:39 into the third. The Roadrunners’ Michael Bunting added the final goal at the 12:28 mark.

Reign goalie Jack Campbell had 23 saves in the loss.
