John Lasseter says, “Create stories that matter;” kicks off Disney’s D23 Expo 2017

John Lasseter evoked his own personal feelings about why Pixar and Disney Animated films continue to touch so many people – It’s about heart.

“Create stories that matter and put joy out in this world,” Lasseter said in front of the Anaheim Convention Center as fans lined up for the D23 Expo, The Walt Disney Co.’s biennial fan convention.

Wearing his trademark Hawaiian shirt, the Pixar and Disney Animation Chief Creative Officer will kick off today’s convention with a discussion on the upcoming animated films slated for release within the next couple of years.

“We’re going to talk about Olaf’s Frozen Adventures,” Lasseter said, “Ralph breaks the internet: Wreck it Ralph 2, the sequel of Wreck it Ralph, where Ralph and Vanellope go into the Internet. Then we’re going to talk about Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4 and Coco.”
