When Jewel was a teenager living in Alaska, she saw her friends and families she knew struggle financially, demoralized because they couldn’t give holiday gifts to their loved ones.

Those memories helped inspire her “Handmade Holiday Tour,” which includes more than just her hits and holiday favorites. The stops will also feature an area for making and gifting homemade presents, something she enjoyed doing as a kid.

“My family wasn’t raised with money, but we never felt sad,” Jewel said during a recent phone interview. “During holidays we made presents for each other using found items.”
