Is your favorite Christmas toy in the Hall of Fame or the hall of shame?

How many toys have you played with in your life? Chances are you’ve come across some if not all of the 65 that have been inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame.
The Toy Hall of Fame is part of the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. The Hall of Fame accepts nominations from the public, but to be inducted, the nominees must be approved by historians and educators with background and appreciation of learning and play.
On the other hand, there are the toys banned for being dangerous. Brompton Bicycles, children’s sleepware and Squatty Potty are all children’s products that had recalls of thousands of units just this month.
First, we look at the good toys:
Nominated in 2017
The National Selection Advisory Committee for the Toy Hall of Fame selected paper airplanes, Clue and the wiffle ball for induction. Here are the nine nominees that will have to wait another year:
- Magic 8 Ball
- Matchbox cars
- My Little Pony
- PEZ candy dispenser
- Play food
Note: Transformers and Uno were nominated in 2016 as well. All the toys in the hall of fame are listed below.
