Aubrey Slater went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles, three runs and two RBIs for Beaumont. Aquinas’ Bobbi Ann Pratt capped a stellar freshman season with her eighth home run.
Beaumont (19-8) will host Whittier (16-8-1) in a second-round game Tuesday afternoon.
Hemet rolled to a 13-5 victory over West Covina Edgewood, the No. 2 seed in Division 4 and a team that entered the postseason with a 17-0 record. Hemet (15-15) will play host to Santa Barbara San Marcos (20-7) in a second-round game Tuesday afternoon.
