Riverside City College 8, West L.A. 6:
The Tigers earned the comeback victory over West L.A. College after a strong bullpen performance and timely hitting in a nonconference game at home.
Despite committing four errors, RCC scored four runs in the seventh inning to extended their win-streak to four.
Andrew Jurado hit a two-out two-RBI double in the bottom of the second.
Daniel Martinez hit a two-RBI double in the seventh to put the Tigers on top at 8-6. He went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, three RBI and a run scored.
Closer Graham Kuck earned his first-career save while striking out one. Reliever Michael Coppens (1-0) took the victory after tossing 3.2 innings and striking out three. Meanwhile, starter Andrew Salazar went 4.1 innings and allowed six runs – only four earned – while striking out six.
Westmont College 9, La Sierra 4:
The Golden Eagles dropped to 6-4 on the season after falling to Westmont College on the road in a nonconference game.
Irvine Valley 1, Mt. San Jacinto 0:
Although the Eagles had six hits against the Lancers, they were unable to make it home as they fell on the road against Irvine Valley.
The Eagles’ Trae Erikson went 3 for 4 at the plate, while Abraham Rascon went 2 for 3.
Coyotes finish ninth:
Cal State San Bernardino competed at the Cal State San Marcos Fujikura Invitational, finishing ninth (909), 34 shots behind champion and host CSUSM.
Tristan Stone placed T9 with a 5-over 221 after rounds of 78-69-74.
Cody Hall was T33 at 229 (74-75-80) with Sacha Barbarin T43 with a 232 (80-77-75).
Brandon Steffins was T54 at 234 (78-73-83) and Drew Fehrman at T62 (77-82-79_238).
Both Steffins and Fehrman scored an eagle during Round one, both on the Par-5, 545-yard No. 1.
