The University of Redlands men’s water polo team split a pair of nonconference matches Thursday at the Thompson Aquatic Center.
The Bulldogs tied Fordham University at halftime, but ultimately fell 11-6.
Sean Todd and Max Taylor each had a goal and an assist in the loss.
In the 20-3 victory against McKendree University, the Bulldogs (5-12) scored 11 straight goals before the Bearcats answered back.
Taylor led the attack with three goals, while teammates Ilan Dayan and Aaron White each scored twice.
Mitchell Walker distributed three assists.
After McKendree converted its first goal, the Bulldogs answered back with another scoring spree of seven goals. White led the charge with three of his game-high five goals. Kyle Jackson scored twice, as Blake Burney provided two assists.
Goalkeepers Chris Martinez and Braeden Shaw had eight saves collectively.
Sac State 2, UCR 1:
Roberto Garcia-Vargas scored UC Riverside’s lone goal in the BigWest matchup at home.
James Del Curto made six saves in the loss. The Highlanders drop to 0-10 overall, 0-3 in conference play before they host UC Davis on Saturday.
UCR 1, CSUF 0:
Quinley Quezada scored UC Riverside’s lone goal on a penalty kick in the third minute.
The Highlanders improve to 6-7-3 overall, and remain undefeated in the BigWest Conference at 3-0.
