Riverside City College 79, Bakersfield 72:
Riverside City College (5-2) snapped its two-game losing streak with a victory over Bakersfield in the 2017 Hemet Valley Kiwanis Hoops and Crops Tournament hosted by Mt. San Jacinto.
After facing a 10-point deficit in the second half, the Tigers went on a 10-1 run to help propel them to victory.
Andre Wilson put up a team-high 21 points in his return from injury. He also added eight boards and three assists. Brae Ivey followed with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Meanwhile, Jordan Robinson had a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards.
RCC’s bench contributed 28 points in the game which featured eight lead changes and nine tied scores.
The Tigers will face Chaffey in the semifinals tomorrow at 5 p.m.
Mt. San Jacinto 89, Santiago Canyon 86:
Mt. San Jacinto outlasted Santiago Canyon in the first round of the Kiwanis Hoops and Crops Tournament.
After being down 51-37 in the first half, MSJC dominated the second half with a 52-35 performance.
Davon Sanders led the Eagles with a game-high 33 points and 12 rebounds. He was followed by David Thompson with 24 points and A.J. Walton with 12.
The Eagles will face Copper Mountain in the semifinals tomorrow at 7 p.m.
UC San Diego 77, Cal State San Bernardino 71:
Dorian Butler had a team-high 17 points in the Coyotes’ California Collegiate Athletic Association loss on the road to UC San Diego.
Blake McBride and T.A. Dixon followed with 12 points each. Meanwhile, Jacardo Hawkins led the team with 13 boards.
CSUSB (3-4, 1-2) will host Chico State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
College of the Sequoias 91, Riverside City College 74:
Kimari Hollis had a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers in their nonconference loss at the 41st Annual Gilcrest Tournament.
Hollis also had five assists.
