The University of Redlands track and field teams completed the two-day Redlands Final Qualifying Meet on Ashel Cunningham Track in Ted Runner Stadium.
In the women’s high jump, junior Vanessa Blanchard cleared 1.64 meters to tie for first place. Caitlin Nardi took fourth place in the same event, marking 1.54 meters.
Freshman Maria Ramirez took first in the 5000m run at 19:11.68, beating her only competitor by about three minutes. Reyna Ta’amu placed first in the women’s shot put with a distance of 14.66.
Freshman Maliq Champion cleared 1.95m in the men’s high jump and Nick Burchett took fourth in the 400m hurdles (54.34).
Carlos Ruiz placed third in the 200m dash, timing in at 22.64 seconds, just .73 behind first place Gabriel Barrett-Jackson of Occidental. Luke Bohlinger finished the 100m dash in 10.64 seconds for second place, Myles Speegle followed in fifth place at 10.72.
