Big West Championships:
The UC Riverside women’s team finished in 4th-place as the host of the 2017 Big West Championships with a team score of 89. Weslie Pearce (20:51.3) and Faith Makau (21:03.4) finished seventh and ninth overall to lead the Highlanders in the Women’s 6k.
Junior Emily Sanchez had her highest finish ever at the Big West Championships, beating her career-best 2015 mark by 32 seconds to take 19th overall.
The men’s team finished in 8th-place with a team score of 158. Arman Irani (25:09.2) finished 18th overall to lead UCR in the Men’s 8k.
In just his third career race, freshman Jonathan Lee took 26th overall, good for the highest finish of any current Highlander in his Big West Championship debut.

U of R 2, Occidental 1:
Antony Chonga scored two goals in the University of Redlands’ overtime win at home.
Goalie Josh Haskill made six saves for the Bulldogs (13-3-2, 12-0-2 SCIAC).

CBU 5, Academy of Art 0:
Jordan Dow scored two goals in Cal Baptist’s PacWest win at home.
Haley Wheelon and Hoku Afong each made two assists, while Kyler Clark and Lanai Navarro both scored a goal.
Sara Escobedo made three saves in her 55 minutes and 45 seconds of play. The Lancers are 11-4-1 overall, 9-1-1 in conference action.

CSUF 3, UCR 1:
Chelsea Doyle led UC Riverside with 42 assists in the team’s 25-23, 22-25, 25-14, 25-15 loss to Cal State Fullerton. Doyle now has 2,571 career assists, and passed Laura Ratto in fifth place on UCR’s career assist leaders list.
Nicole Rodriguez led UCR with 18 digs. Rodriguez now has double-digit digs in 19 of the 21 matches this season.
Brooke Callahan led the Highlanders with 14 kills, achieving double-digit kills for the seventh time this season.
