The California Baptist University women’s golf team traveled to Bellingham, Wash. to compete in the Western Washington Invite at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.

The Lancers took first place with a round one score of 298.

Kristyna Abrahamova placed first with a 71, followed by Erica Wang and Yu Ling Lee who both tied for sixth with a 75.

Samantha Martinez and Jocelyn Chee Yi Min both carded a 77 to tie for 12th.

CBU will compete in the second and final day of the invitational tomorrow.


Highlanders in fifth: UC Riverside placed fifth on day one of two of the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational at the NM State Golf course.

The Highlanders tallied 304 points in one round, with Jakeishya Le leading the way with 75 points, putting her in a tie for 16th.

Serena Chon and Hannah Facchini both scored a 76 to tie for 19th.
