The Community Foundation, which serves Riverside and San Bernardino counties, has appointed the head of a sustainable development nonprofit in Appalachian Ohio as their next President and CEO.

Michelle Decker, currently the CEO of Rural Action, will begin her new role on April 2.

According to Rural Action’s website, their “mission is to promote social, economic, and environmental justice by training, organizing and supporting communities.”

In a news release, the Foundation said Decker was selected from more than 64 applicants during a nationwide search. She will succeed Interim President and CEO Paula Myles who will continue as the Foundation’s VP of Finance and Administration.

“I’m excited to get to know, and start working with the organizations and local leaders who want to see the people and communities of Inland Southern California thrive, and help TCF play its best role in that,” Decker said in the release.
