How $142,000 grant will help 18 Riverside County middle schools
By Craig Shultz
Sports programs at 18 Riverside County middle schools will get a boost thanks to a $142,000 grant received by the Think Together organization from the LA84 Foundation.
The money will be used to support Think Together’s sports programs in underserved communities, including basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball and other intramural programs.
The Orange County-based nonprofit Think Together organization is working to eliminate childhood obesity in the communities. Overall, it supports competitive sports programs at 45 public schools and for 5,000 middle school students in Riverside and Los Angeles counties.
LA84 is a legacy of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
