Homeland bar badly damaged in fire
A fire early Sunday caused an estimated $100,000 damage at the Roadhouse 74 Bar and Grill in Homeland, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 3:38 a.m. at the bar in the 31600 block of East Highway 74, east of Hemet, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release. When firefighters arrived, the fire was well-established in the 2,500-square-foot structure, and power lines were down.
The fire was contained about 5:15 a.m., though firefighters remained on scene for a few more hours, the release said.
No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
The bar’s phone line was not in service Sunday, and its website and Facebook page did not address whether it was still open.
