Hit-and-run collision in Perris severely injures man

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a predawn Christmas hit-and-run collision that left a man with severe injuries alongside the Ramona Expressway in Perris, according to a sheriff’s news release.
The man, who hasn’t been identified, was found lying on the shoulder of the road near Redlands Boulevard when officers responded at 2:28 a.m. He was unconscious and transported to a nearby hospital.
Westbound Ramona Expressway was closed at Redlands Boulevard for several hours during the investigation. The location is west of Evans Road.
