The fire began about 4 p.m. Sunday. It prompted evacuations of homes east of High Road and south of Highway 18 and the closure of some roads. A portion of Highway 18 was closed for about three hours then reopened.

By Monday, evacuations had been canceled and most roads had been reopened.
