A needy family living in the Inland area will get a chance to own a donated 2017 Chevrolet Spark as part of the annual Colonies Holiday Miracles event.

Eligible families can mail or drop off a letter that includes name, email, phone number and a physical address. They must write, in 350 words or less, why they believe they should be selected. Letters must be postmarked or dropped off by Dec. 1, according to a news release outlining the contest rules.

One family will be chosen for the car. “Organizers are looking for details of the applicant’s current situation and future plans,” the news release stated.

One submission is allowed per family, and participants must verify a demonstrable financial need and that they live in the Inland area. The chosen family will be notified by Dec. 8, 2017.

The car is being donated by Colonies Partners LP, Mark Christopher Auto Center and the law firm Larson O’Brien LLP.

To mail an entry, address it to: Colonies Holiday Miracles, 1220 East 19th St., Upland, CA 91784.

Drop-off boxes are also located at Mark Christopher Chevrolet, 2131 Convention Center Way, in Ontario, and Mountain View Chevrolet, 1079 W. Foothill Blvd, in Upland.
