Ross Valenzuela will be president of the Hemet school board for the next year and Megan Haley will be vice president.

The two were chosen by their Hemet Unified School District board colleagues Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Valenzuela, the longest-serving trustee, also was president in 2015. His duties will include running board meetings. He has been board vice president since August when Joe Wojcik resigned his seat.

Valenzuela is in the final year of his second term. Other terms expiring in 2018 belong to Haley, Rob Davis and Vic Scavarda.
