A security guard killed when he was struck by a vehicle at the FedEx distribution center in Bloomington was identified Tuesday, Nov. 14, as Thomas Patrick Carpenter.

Carpenter, 61, was a resident of Riverside, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.

He was killed Friday, Nov. 10. Cal/OSHA is investigating the fatality, said California Department of Industrial Relations spokesman Frank Polizzi. No other details on the circumstances of the incident were available.

Carpenter worked for Allied Universal, Polizzi said, which provides security, janitorial and staffing services.

Services had not been set as of Tuesday. Arrangements are being handled by Pierce Brothers-Crestlawn Mortuary and Memorial Park in Riverside.
