Jack Lamb, a four-star football recruit for Great Oak High School, committed to Notre Dame on Thursday, writing on twitter, “God. Country. Notre Dame. 110% Committed.
Lamb’s stock as a recruit has risen considerably during the last six months, following up on a standout junior season in which he had 117 tackles — 18 for losses — and was named the Southwestern League Defensive MVP.
“I think he’s improved himself as an athlete,” Great Oak coach Robbie Robinson said. “He’s a hard-working kid. He’s improved himself immensely as an athlete.”
Lamb is 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, is lauded for his versatility and chose the Irish over UCLA.
“He’s a leader and he’s a great student,” said Robinson, who said Lamb is the first Notre Dame recruit he’s had in 29 years of coaching. “He’s just all-around what you hope for out of your leaders for football.”
