Fundraiser set for Riverside chiropractor wounded in Las Vegas shooting
A fundraiser for Riverside chiropractor Amanda Peterson, critically wounded in the Las Vegas mass shooting, has been set for Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Riverside.
Meanwhile, Peterson remained in critical condition Wednesday, and was scheduled to undergo additional surgery in the evening, her friend Kym Benner said.
Peterson was shot in the back during the Sunday, Oct. 1, attack on concertgoers at the country music Route 91 Harvest festival.

The Straw Hat pizza parlor at 3765 La Sierra Ave. in Riverside will donate 35 percent of proceeds from sales made from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 10, Benner said. Participants need to mention “Dr. Amanda.”
Benner, a doula who has many of the same expectant patients as Peterson, has established a GoFundMe account for the single mother and is also accepting PayPal donations.
The GoFundMe site may be accessed by visiting GoFundMe.com and searching for “Medical Expenses for Dr. Amanda.”
The PayPal donation can be accessed through the “friends and family” option. Her email in connection with that is firstname.lastname@example.org.
More information is on Benner’s Facebook site.
Sunday night’s shooting left 59 people — including the shooter — dead and at least 527 wounded. Nevada resident Stephen Craig Paddock opened fire from a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, police have said.
Paddock shot into a crowd of 22,000 people gathered across Las Vegas Boulevard at the country music show. Paddock was dead when police broke into his room. A motive for the attack has not been released. The FBI has said there was no connection to an international terrorist group.
