Friends, family create memorial for 18-year-old Fontana man killed
A steady stream of friends and family members visited a makeshift memorial for an 18-year-old Fontana man police say lost his life over misplaced jealousy.
Candles and flowers were placed outside the 7-Eleven on Foothill Boulevard near Alder Avenue only a few hours after police say John Nieto, 20, of San Bernardino ran down Cristian Dominguez-Aguilar Wednesday night because Nieto believed Dominguez-Aguilar was having an affair with Nieto’s girlfriend.

An orange poster board with Dominguez-Aguilar’s photo was taped to the wall of the convenience store and people left messages for the 18-year-old whose family said he was a sweet person and hard worker.

“R.I.P Te Vamos A Extrañar Cristian,” read one message which translates to “we will miss you Cristian.”
Fontana police say Dominguez-Aguilar and Nieto’s girlfriend, Elisabeth Mancilla, 20, of Rialto, worked together and she would give him rides home. On Wednesday night, Nieto waited for the 18-year-old to get out of Mancilla’s vehicle and then allegedly ran him over only a few yards from Dominguez-Aguilar’s home.
Police found Nieto Thursday morning and arrested him on suspicion of murder. Mancilla was arrested because police say she witnessed the attack, didn’t call police and picked up Nieto as he ran from the scene. Mancilla denies she was having an affair with Dominguez-Aguilar, police said.
