Former baseball coach Stout, cross country standout and coach Carney among those to be honored by Yucaipa HS Hall of Fame

Yucaipa will hold its ninth Hall of Fame induction festivities at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at the school.

The newest class of honorees is headed by former baseball and football coach Jeff Stout, who recently retired after his 41st season as baseball coach. He registered 809 career wins and directed one of the area’s premier programs.

He had 23 players move on to professional baseball headed by current major leaguers Taijuan Walker of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Matt Davidson of the Chicago White Sox.

Five of his players (Walker, Davidson, Mark Teahen, Tyrone Hill, Lance Hallberg) were first round draft picks. Six have made it to the majors (Walker, Davidson, Teahen, Matt Carson, Corky Miller and Scott Snodgress).

Others to be inducted are are Gordon Campbell (football/baseball, 1978), David Kirksey (basketball/track, 1985), current cross country coach Jason Carney (cross country/track, 1990 and Scott Adams (head golf coach).
