Fontana officer helps deliver baby that couldn’t wait for the hospital
The motto for most police officers is to protect and serve. For Fontana police Officer Jennie Venzor, add “and deliver” to that phrase.
The veteran officer helped bring a new life into the world just before midnight Tuesday, Jan. 30, a Fontana news release said: a baby named Luna.
On the night of the “super blue blood moon” — a supermoon, blue moon and lunar eclipse all on the same night — the baby’s mom started having contractions, the release said.
Before she could get to the hospital, her water broke and the baby came in a hurry.
However, Venzor managed to get there in time to help deliver the 7-pound, 5-ounce baby.
Paramedics arrived shortly after, and took Luna and her mom, Ruth, to the hospital, the release said. Both are doing well.
